Art Spiegelman: Open Me...I'm a Dog!
Very funny, kind of sad, wonderful kid's book. (*****)
Dr. Seuss: One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish
Not as good as I remember, but fun nonetheless! (****)
Ina May Gaskin: Ina May's Guide to Childbirth
This is an amazing birth book, and steeled my resolve to strive for a natural childbirth. The first half of the book is birth stories, the second is a serious look at the issues surrounding birth. Reinforces the difference between obstetrics, which views birth as a pathology, and midwifery, which views birth as a process. (*****)
Linda Nagata: Memory
My favorite kinf of SF - hard planet colonization. I didn't entirely care for the concept of "silver", but I enjoyed the story. (***)
